About

Elrita Annett and Mirina Brown are experienced horse people with first hand knowledge of a variety of breeds and equine disciplines.

Elrita has over 40 years experience with horses and has personally ridden and shown different breeds and disciplines. She started her show career at Miles River Riding School with Mrs. Barner and Mrs. McNeil starting with Leadline, progressing to Short Stirrup, then Adult Hunt Seat Equitation and has shown in other disciplines since then. For many years, Elrita showed Class A Arabians. She has also trained in reining, cutting and roping plus obtained her foundation quarter horse judge’s card and has judged these events. Elrita has no breed prejudice and appreciates the fine qualities of all horses. There is a special place in her heart for the Welsh since she learned to ride on the Welsh ponies at Miles River.

Mirina has been showing since she was three. She started out showing Leadline and Short Stirrup and progressed to showing Quarter Horses in Showmanship and Horsemanship. Mirina has many accomplishments in her record.

Mirina Brown has been riding since she could walk. She has a quiet, calm attitude with children, and they love her! Mirina’s Welsh pony, Top Hat Spyder Dance, was Reserve Champion in English Pleasure at the East Coast Nationals in Ohio in 2008, third place high point in both English and Western Pleasure for the Southeast Region. Elrita did slip ahead of her and was Reserve Champion in Western Pleasure for the Southeast Region with her Welsh pony, Churtchell’s Supreme Eclipse.  In 2009, Churchell’s Supreme Eclipse with Elrita were 4th place, National High Point Champsionships, third for the East Coast High Point in Halter and Western Pleasure, Virginia State Champion and National Top Ten in Western Pleasure.  Whispering Cavalier with Mirina was National Top Ten in Halter and Virginia Reserve Champion. Top Hay Spyder Dance with Mirina were National Top Ten in English Pleasure.

In 2010, we showed locally with our students.  Lauren won Champions and Reserve Champions in Leadline.  Mikayla won Champion in Western Pleasure with her horse, Leap Lindy Sue.  Jael has gotten lots of ribbons in her first two shows including first and seconds.
